When they finally headed up the stairs to their bedroom amidst the Kovacs’ brothers’ snores, muffled by the solid core doors in the inn, another was still up, considering the implications of all the secrets in the Kovacs family. It was good that Laura Keene would figure it all out because she was the one who should know everything and could make sense of it all for everyone. She could help them accept it all.

Empress Isabella waved her tail, back and forth, then what she called making “smoke circles” as she waved it around and around. Sometimes she pretended she was a helicopter and her tail was the chopper’s blades. She did her best thinking when playing like this.

The mysteries that were being revealed and unraveled during this holiday time at the Mistletoe Inn would have far-reaching consequences if not handled delicately. Laura could do this, Isabella was sure.

She was also one hundred percent certain that every person in the Kovacs family would need some help, in one way or another. Laura was the best to do it, especially when all the secrets came out, as they would.

And I’m here to help her.
